About Jay

I am an esteemed researcher with a robust focus on the role of oxygen in plant health, both in outdoor agricultural environments and indoor settings. I hold a PhD in Sub-Surface Drip Irrigation with a concentration on aeration in crops from Central Queensland University and a Master of Applied Science in Systems Agriculture and Rural Development from Western Sydney University. Additionally, I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Ecology and Environment, further enriching my expertise in environmental science.

My extensive research delves into the importance of oxygenation in enhancing crop yield and quality, examining how aerated water irrigation (oxygation) can significantly benefit plant health. This work is pivotal in understanding how oxygen levels affect plant growth, with implications for improving agricultural practices and sustainability.
Throughout my career, I have also explored the importance of indoor plants, particularly their role in oxygen release and air quality improvement. I have highlighted how certain plants, known for their high oxygen-releasing capabilities, are crucial for enhancing indoor air quality, which directly impacts human health and mindfulness. By increasing oxygen levels indoors, these plants help alleviate respiratory issues, improve cognitive function, and reduce stress, making them vital for creating healthier living environments.

I combine my academic insights with practical experiences in permaculture farming, promoting sustainable agricultural practices. My research in both outdoor and indoor environments underscores the critical role of oxygen in fostering plant vitality and human well-being, bridging the gap between agricultural science and practical applications in everyday life. My contributions continue to influence both the academic field and industry practices, promoting the integration of sustainable and health-focused solutions in agriculture and indoor plant care.
